Temporary agent posts are classified in two function groups according to the nature and importance of the duties involved.
Administrators function group (AD) covers twelve grades from AD 5 to AD 16 corresponding to technical, administrative, advisory, linguistic and scientific duties.
Assistants function group (AST) covers eleven grades from AST 1 to AST 11 corresponding to executive, technical and clerical duties.
The probationary period of temporary agents is nine months.
Contract agent positions are classified in four function groups according to the duties and responsibilities involved.
Function group I corresponds to administrative support service tasks.
Function group II corresponds to secretarial tasks and office management tasks.
Function group III corresponds to executive, drafting and accountancy and other equivalent technical tasks.
Function group IV corresponds to administrative, advisory, and linguistic tasks.
Contract agents recruited for more than one year have a probationary period of nine months.
Seconded national experts are drawn from the civil services of EU countries unless specified otherwise in the secondment notice. They bring their unique skills and knowledge to ENISA for a period of time before taking the experience acquired during their stay at the Agency back to their home administration.
Candidates for secondment must:
Have a current employment in the national, regional or local public sector or international civil service. Alternatively candidates may be employed in non-profit or voluntary sector.
Hold a university degree in a field relevant to the areas of work described in this call
Have at least three years of experience in scientific, technical, administrative advisory or supervisory responsibilities
Be a national of a Member State of the EU or a national of the European Free Trade Area (EFTA)
Be able to communicate in English as this is the working language of ENISA.
Selected candidates will be invited for a telephone and/or face-to-face interview.
ENISA’s traineeship scheme is addressed mainly to young university graduates, without excluding those who – in the framework of lifelong learning – have recently obtained a university diploma and are at the beginning of a new professional career.

Your salary takes into account the basic salary that corresponds to your grade and step (see your work contract), the family allowances, compensations, taxes and social contributions. This salary is impacted by a weighting factor to take into account the cost of living in Greece (currently 86%). Pay rates and correction coefficients are adjusted each year.
Wages vary according to grade and function; for officials, the starting salary varies from €3,000 (AST) to €5,000 (AD) depending on the entry grade, whereas the entry salary for the different function groups of contract agents is between €2,000 and €2,500. Salaries increase based on merit and seniority as you progress in your career.

Your salary is exempted from national taxes on income in all EU member states. However, a tax deduction on your salary will contribute to the general EU budget.

In addition to the basic salary, staff members may receive various allowances depending on their personal circumstances. The final salary is calculated by adding the relevant allowances and by deducting social security contributions and other taxes.
