4th IoT Security Conference
ENISA, Europol and CERT-EU are co-organising a series of webinars to raise awareness on the security of the Internet of Things (IoT). The conference aims to enable a broad discussion by bringing together experts from cybercrime units, CSIRTs, international organisations, private industry, regulatory agencies, and academia.
Each webinar will have an approximate duration of 1.5 hours and will open with a keynote speech followed by a panel discussion. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the panel and ask questions on the discussion topics through a web conferencing tool.
Session 1: Operational IoT
With the Internet of Things, the distinguishing lines between the digital and the physical world are blurring. Any security breach in the Internet of Things may not only severely affect the digital world, but more importantly might lead to serious safety issues in the physical world.
With great impact on citizens’ health, safety and privacy, the threat landscape of the Internet of Things is extremely wide and diverse. There is an emerging need to understand the threats and attacks on IoT infrastructure comprehensively and use tools and mechanisms to enhance the security of IoT devices and their use and integrate them in a safe manner in the IT infrastructure.
This webinar discusses the current IoT security challenges and their causes, the efforts to secure IoT infrastructures and relevant projects, and finally regulatory aspects and certification schemes. Next to presenting the main points on the topic, this webinar is meant to interact with its participants and stimulate a discussion on operations and services that can be used to help ensure IoT cybersecurity.
